In het kader van de expositie Graphic Sapphic rondom lesbische stripboeken en cartoons uit de jaren 70 – 90 van de vorige eeuw, een rondleiding door de expo met gids Jiro Ghianni, transgender stripmaker en vrolijke activist. 

Jiro verbreedt de kijk op de expositie met een trans mannelijk/queer perspectief op lesbische strips. Onderzoek hoe de banden tussen trans mensen en de lesbische gemeenschap eigenlijk heel vanzelfsprekend waren. En is dat nu nog steeds zo? Een interactieve tour over stereotypes, transfobie, verbinding, en (her)interpretaties van geschiedenis.

Dit evenement wordt georganiseerd in het kader van de tentoonstelling >Graphic Sapphic, in samenwerking met de Faculteit der Cultuur- en Maatschappijwetenschappen van de Universiteit Maastricht en de Nederlandse Onderzoeksraad (NWO).

In light of the exhibition Graphic Sapphic focusing on lesbian comics and cartoons from the 70s – 90s of the previous century, a tour through the exhibit with guide Jiro Ghianni, transgender comics creator and seriously-fun activist.

Jiro complements the exhibition with a transmasculine/queer perspective. Explore how ties between trans people and the lesbian community were quite natural. Is that still true today? An interactive tour about stereotypes, transphobia, connection, and (re-)interpretations of history.

This event is organized within the context of the exhibition >Graphic Sapphic, in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University and the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
