samenvatting: The case studies offered here are intended as an instructional tool for anyone interested in leading new or strengthening existing PrEP efforts. It will especially be beneficial to advocates, community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and policymakers working in HIV prevention, sexual health, or human rights. While the specific contexts of each country are unique, there are lessons or considerations in each case study that may be relevant in other country contexts. At the beginning of each of the case studies are key takeaways. Each case study is followed by a set of reflection questions. The case studies are preceded by primers on PrEP and on PrEP pricing, and followed by a knowledge quiz, a worksheet for action planning, and additional resources. They point to the key building blocks of community-led advocacy, social marketing, training, and service delivery efforts to make PrEP more accessible to gay and bisexual men. The seven case studies were assembled following detailed desk reviews and qualitative interviews with stakeholders and community-based organizations partnered with MPact. We piloted the case studies at two multi-country PrEP demand-generation workshops in partnership with the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC) in 2019.

samenvatting: The connection between LGBT+ inclusion and economic/business performance in countries is often overlooked. This Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) report has a special focus on four countries - Hungary, Poland, Romania and Ukraine - each of which has great economic potential. Research has shown that LGBT+ inclusion can be an important driver of economic activity and, conversely, that LGBT+ discrimination comes at a social and financial cost to societies. This report explores the current economic and business environments in these countries and demonstrates through data analysis, case studies and survey research where there are opportunities for growth. It concludes that greater LGBT+ inclusion could make these countries and the companies operating in them more viable economically.

samenvatting: This regional report on violations of the right to health of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people (LGBT people) in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region in 2022 was developed based on the results of a consolidated analysis of data on rights violations in 8 countries of the region: Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Since 2017, the Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity (ECOM) has been monitoring violations of human rights, including the right to health, in the EECA region. The main tool for such monitoring is the documentation of cases in accordance with a single approved form. An analysis of the collected cases of violations of the right to health makes it possible to identify the barriers faced by LGBT people in the EECA region and in individual countries. The objectives of this analysis are to: - identify the nature of human rights violations against LGBT people in the EECA region; - identify the root causes of violations and the impact of legislation and law enforcement practices in the EECA region; - provide recommendations for removing barriers, and further use such recommendations to advocate for the right to health of LGBT people in the EECA region.
