samenvatting: Onderzoek naar geweld van de politie in Kirgizië (Kyrgysztan) gericht tegen homomannen en biseksuele mannen met als doel deze geld af te persen, te vernederen, seksueel te misbruiken, te mishandelen en in sommige gevallen te martelen. Kyrgysztan wordt gezien als een conservatief land waar de man- en vrouwrollen streng verdeeld zijn en homoseksualiteit wordt gezien als een tragedie of ziekte. Geheimhouding van oriëntatie t.o.v. familie, vrienden, collega's en buren wordt door homomannen en biseksuele mannen als noodzakelijk ervaren. Vandaar dat ze een gemakkelijk doelwit zijn voor politieagenten. Deze sporen homomannen actief op op diverse ontmoetingsplaatsen en dreigen met outing, hoewel homoseksualiteit geen misdaad is bij wet. Er zijn geen gevallen bekend waarbij de politie ter verantwoording geroepen is voor gebruikt geweld tegen homomannen. Voor dit onderzoeksrapport werden 40 mannen geïnterviewd. Mét aanbevelingen.
