resume: This thesis explored LGBTIQ-themed museums exhibitions with a focus on curatorial methods. The writing of this thesis is largely motvated by recent curating practices for example the exhibition "Queer British Art" at the Tate Britain, "The Other's Gaze: Spaces of Difference" in the Mueso del Prado Madrid, "Spectrosynthesis- Asian LGBTQ Issues and Art now" in the Museum of Comtemporary Art Taipei. Curatorial attention has gone beyond the concern of selection and installment of works by bordering on the care for how stories are told and how ways of interpreting the subject matter are provided. My intention is to discuss: since museums have been a public sphere of heteronormativity, that is, institutions with privilege narratives of two sexes, how can curating of LGBTIQ exhibitions perform stories beyond the heterosexual dominance and reveal the institutionial discrimination of diverse sexualities in museums. To tackle this problem, I propose "queer curating" as a potential fruitfull approach to critically engage with exhibition space which generally denies gender non-conforming subjects.
