Thank you for your interest in the special IHLIA collection. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Want to know how you can request an item from the collection? On this page you can read all about our procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only at our location<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The IHLIA collection contains rare documents. To safeguard the quality of our collection, you may peruse all the material, but only at our location<\/strong>. On your request, we prepare everything you need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent and sought-after books in the collection are found in our book cabinets at the IHLIA plaza (3rd floor of the OBA in Amsterdam). We don’t lend out this material either, but feel free to grab a copy from the shelf and take a seat on a nice seat in the library. You’ll get a nice view of Amsterdam for free!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search and request<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

>Search through our online catalogue<\/a>. <\/strong>

>Request your document (maximum 12 items)<\/em> by pressing the button \u2018Aanvragen\u2019 (Request) and sending the list to us.<\/strong> This is the icon with the notepad and clock. You will find this button at the bottom left of every object.

> A pop-up screen currently appears where you can schedule an appointment. This is an error in the system. Only when we contact you following your request will we schedule an appointment for perusing.<\/strong> Until then, we ask you to enter any date so that you can continue in the request process.

In addition, it asks for a motivation, but it is not necessary. So you can leave this text box blank. We apologise for the confusion, we are working on a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

>Have you collected everything? Then go to ‘Winkelwagen’ (Shopping cart) at the top of the menu<\/strong>. Leave your details and your list will be sent to our information desk.

Here again, you will see a text box with Motivation. So you don’t have to enter anything here, but if you have a question\/comment you can put it here.

Please note<\/strong> that you need an<\/em> IHLIA account<\/a> to make a request via the website for perusing the collection<\/em>. With an account you also have the option to store search queries in ‘Mijn dossier’ (My files)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Up!<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Open Up! collection is digitally available. It is an IHLIA project about the history of LGBTI emancipation and development, mainly in central, east and southeast Europe.

To peruse this material you first have to apply for an IHLIA account<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE:<\/strong> due to privacy and copyright issues you can only peruse a part of the online collection via a so called tier 2 access. More information you can find at the Open Up! page<\/a> at this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can research through the entire archive via online catalogue<\/a>. It is an useful search environment with all kinds of applications which leads you easily to your desired result, such as the Homosaurus (keywords)<\/a> and the ability to filter your results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, you can easily request your selection of documents (maximum 12 items) by pressing the button \u2018Aanvragen\u2019 and sending the list to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
